5) Spectroscopy and photoreactivity on the level of custom-designed single molecules

Supervisor: Jacek Waluk

Wassie Mersha Takele was born in Ethiopia, where he obtained M.Sc. degree in Physical Chemistry. He was awarded an Erasmus Mundus Masters scholarship against very strong international competition. His main research interests include molecular spectroscopy and optical sensing. Throughout his previous research experiences, Wassie had developed strong skills in synthesis and characterization of metal nanoparticles, surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence-based optical chemical sensors.

Currently, Wassie is pursuing his PhD at IPC-PAS (department of photochemistry and spectroscopy), where he is investigating strong light-matter coupling and single molecule spectroscopy under the supervision of Prof. Waluk.
