Inauguration of the first academic year of the NaMeS programme

On the 2nd June, 2017 the Inauguration of the first academic year of the NaMeS project was celebrated in the Seminar Hall of the IPC PAS. All new PhD students of Interdisciplinary NAnoscience School: from phenoMEnology to applicationS and the supervisors were invited.

The Inauguration was chaired by:

  • Prof. Robert Hołyst – Project Coordinator
  • Prof. Robert Kołos – Head of the PhD Studies
  • Agnieszka Tadrzak – Project Manager
  • Patrycja Nitoń – member of the Project Support Office

Prof. Robert Hołyst, Project Coordinator, welcomed the new PhD students and provide them with overall picture of the Institute as well as with possibilities of collaboration with research groups among the Institute.

Next, prof. Robert Kołos, Head of the PhD Studies,  handed to each new PhD student the Students’s Records Book. He discussed the regulations of the International Doctoral Studies at the IPC PAS and pointed out the Programme of the NaMeS studies as well as rules of completion of each year of study. 

During the official part of the Inauguration the Matriculation Oath Ceremony took place.

In the next part of the meeting, Agnieszka Tadrzak – Project Manager – presented the main objectives of the NaMeS project. She raised the legal issues concerning, among others, employment regulations. The new PhD students also took note of the most important persons in the IPC PAS structure as well as procedures related to purchase and  business trips.

The meeting ended with the question session followed by a long discussion on issues related mostly with legalization of residence in Poland and in country of partners organizations.
