“Programming in Python” course

Yu-Ting Kao, NaMeS PhD student, participated in the VU (Vrije Universiteit) summer school titled “Programming in Python”. This course was aim to teach basic principles of programming through hands-on exercises using real-world examples. Participants of the course had 3 hours lectures and 3 hours practical assignments per day. On the first day, they learned how to write a program of chatting robot. On the last day of the course, they were able to use the libraries to do the web crawling. The lecturer gave them some actual problems that they can imagine and solve it by programming. There were three graded project assignments in this course which would issue 3 ETCs if you pass. After this course, Yu-Ting Kao started to consider writing her own program for image analysis which she will use in her research.
