Research internship at TROPOS

2021-02-22

Kumar Sarang visited Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS), Leipzig, for his Ph.D. research. During his stay at TROPOS, he worked in Laser Lab under the supervision of Dr. Tobias Otto and Prof. Hartmut Herrmann. His main task was to investigate the photooxidation products in the aqueous phase reaction samples of Green Leaf Volatiles using sophisticated analytical techniques such as GC-MS and High-resolution LC-MS. LC-MS measurements were obtained under the supervision of Dr. Martin Brueggemann on the Thermo Fischer Q-Exactive Orbitrap instrument, which is a high-resolution mass spectrometer. The present visit enabled him to complete the pending research tasks from his previous visit last year in September 2019, which will be soon compiled and result in a separate publication. The other aim of the visit was to discuss the data from his previous manuscript based on the Kinetics with colleagues at TROPOS, Leipzig.
