Secondment to the Institute of Chemical Technology, Leipzig University

2020-03-20

Ayesha Khan, NaMeS PhD student, participated in the secondment at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Leipzig University. During her secondments she has prepared TiO2/Chitosan: lignin photocatalyst using wet impregnation technique with subsequent hydrothermal treatment method. Finally, the prepared catalysts were characterized using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis, Infrared (IR)- Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) analysis, Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) specific surface area analysis and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. It was found that wet impregnation technique could be used to immobilize TiO2 over chitosan-lignin composite.
