Study visit to the University of Freiburg

Yu-Ting Kao and Yu-Kai Lai NaMeS PhD students, participated with their supervisor prof. Piotr Garstecki in the study visit in Department of Microsystems Engineering at the University of Freiburg. In this workshop, Prof. Roland Zengerle (co-supervisor), Dr. Peter Koltay, and Dr. Felix von Stetten gave presentation of their research :”Non-contact microdosage division and Digital nucleic acid testing” and the environment of IMTEK. After their presentation, Yu-Ting Kao started to present herself and up-to-now results to have further discussion of the joint projects in their future PhD study years. PhD students also visited Hahn Schickard which is the institute that has transferred experimental prototype into industry. In their clean room, she saw pilot line for manufacture of the diagnostic cartridges.

During this visit Yu-Ting Kao and Yu-Kai Lai had the opportunity to present their ideas to well-known professors and learn many different perspectives from them as well as clearly define the direction of their doctoral thesis.
