Working visit to the Hahn-Schickard Institute

2021-04-27

Yu-Ting Kao, NaMeS PhD student, visited Hahn-Schickard Institute at Freibur. During this trip, Yu-Ting Kao worked in the nucleic acid group in the bioassay department, responsible for assay integration on microfluidic cartridges for in vitro diagnostics. Using the molecular beacons that she has designed at the University of Freiburg, Yu-Ting Kao was able to perform phenotypic antibiotic susceptibility testing in 90 minutes. Meanwhile, she kept acquiring data to characterize molecular beacons and optimize the buffer conditions to obtain better sensitivity. These results will be written in the manuscript for publication.
