Working visit to the Sorbonne University

2019-03-29

Gabriel Rochinha Morgado, NaMeS PhD student, visited Laboratoire de Physique Theorique de la Matiere Condensee to perform research activity with the partner supervisor of the PhD program. These five days of intensive work have been helpful for the progress of the project. The goal was to find an effective way of determining the velocity of a Fisher front in the case of an autocatalytic reaction A + B -> 2A where the diffusivities of species A and B are different. This implies to find heuristic methods for solving partial differential equations (Fisher-KPP equations). The results will surely lead to a publication in a scientific journal of good impact factor. A new lab visit is already planned in May to complete the current project.
